Oh, Comely - Neutral Milk Hotel

"now we move to
feel for ourselves inside some stranger's stomach
place your body here let your skin begin to blend
itself with mine"
To sum it all up, I think people should listen to Neutral Milk Hotel.
State of Love and Trust - Pearl Jam

"Want to be enlightened like I want to be told the end."
This song reminds me of listening to high school boys sing Pearl Jam covers at the 9th grade dance. It also reminds me of the movie Singles.
Morning Yearning - Ben Harper

"pull the curtains shut, try to keep it dark
but the sun is burning"
I love Ben Harper. Forget Laura Dern, marry me. I listened to nothing but this song for weeks in early 2007. The video is directed by Heath Ledger.
Life Is Beautiful - Vega4

"Life is beautiful, but it's complicated.
We barely make it."
This song was on every TV show known to man, but I still appreciate it. It's a great song. That lyric is just so right.
Njósnavélin - Sigur Rós

It doesn't matter that their music is in icelandic. I cry at almost every song. It's brilliant. This album, which was titled simply ( ) had no lyrics.
Hollow Man- R.E.M.

"Believe in me
Believe in nothing
Corner me
And make me something
I've become the hollow man."
I think this might be my favorite song on the new album.
Shove It - Santogold

"We can't be poor folks
waiting on a trick
with your hands out."
This album is really interesting. At points it's like M.I.A. lite and at times it sounds like The Cranberries. Either way, I like it a lot.
Poses - Rufus Wainwright

"The yellow walls are lined with portraits
And I've got my new red fetching leather jacket
All these poses such beautiful poses
Makes any boy feel like picking up roses"
This song reminds me of fall and rain for some reason. I want to know a man named Rufus.
Golden Skans - Klaxons

"From the night and the light, all plans are golden in your hand."
Ooohohhhooohhhh...I love to dance to this all over the place. This was my "driving too damn early to clinicals" song.
Mary Jane - Alanis Morisette

"So take this moment Mary Jane and be selfish
Worry not about the cars that go by
All that matters Mary Jane is your freedom
Keep warm my dear, keep dry."
This will never get old. I got this album for Christmas in 1995. I remember my sister having a discussion with my mom about whether or not I could listen to it because it says "when you fuck her."

And so what's the verdict? Where you harmed emotionally by the Alanis album?
