Girls without cable.

When my free month of cable ran out July 1st I was sad. However, this has meant that I've watched a ton of movies in the last month. A ton. I'm going to do an Abby-style review of them.

First, August Rush. What the the holy F was that? Keri Russell, I loved you as Felicity. Why? This movie was crap. The only good moment was the little girl who sings. She was adorable.

Next, Lonesome Jim. This was a let down. It was also the reason I've learned to trust the Netflix ratings. I love Casey Affleck, I love him an unhealthy amount. This movie was crap though. It was boring and uncomfortable. I can deal with uncomfortable when it's entertaining. This was not. It was the poor man's Garden State. If your movie is the poor man's version of any Zach Braff movie, it is time to re-evaluate things.

Then there was Wristcutters: A Love Story. Finally, something great. I loved this movie. It was completely quirky and sweet. I've had a thing for Patrick Fugit since Saved! I will admit that I've never watched Almost Famous [gasp!] Anyway, Shannyn Sossamon's hair is great, as well. I love a good haircut. Just when I thought it was over and the ending was disappointing, it just all worked out. I love when that happens.

Onto I'm Not There. This might have been the most frustrating movie watching experience I've had in awhile. I expected it to be off beat. I did not expect it to be long, boring, and pointless. The acting was amazing. The movie was not. I will say that one of my favorite moments, if I had to choose, was absolutely this scene:

Simply because it's visually very appealing to me.

The Big Chill. This movie came out the year before I was born. My sister forced me to watch it this week. I enjoyed it. It was very 80's and I love that. If you haven't seen it and you can ignore Kevin Kline's poorly done southern accent, you should watch it.

That's it for now. I plan on ordering cable tomorrow. Maybe I should review one of the many shows I watch. Ah, yes.

I've been a busy gal recently. I've been busy with work, work, and some more work. We had a ton of visitors recently. Mom, dad, Jen [+ 2 kids], and goodbye dinner with school Andrea. Next weekend I have 3 days off. I'm going to the wedding of a girl I've know since 1995.

It's a weird thing growing up. Isn't it?

I agree with all of this except where's the Kevin Kline love? Sure the Southern accent is slipshod at best, but he's still adorable. I'd marry him, then cheat on him with a house guest, and then offer him up as stud to my best friend. Who wouldn't?

I didn't say I didn't love Kevin Kline. I just really have a hard time with bad accents. It's like you either have it or you don't, make up your mind.
